A Proven Path Through Trauma

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, evidence-based psychotherapy that helps people heal from the symptoms and emotional distress caused by traumatic life experiences.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, I use bilateral stimulation — eye movements, taps, or sounds — to help your brain reprocess painful memories so they no longer hold power over you. EMDR is recognized by the American Psychological Association, the World Health Organization, and the VA as a first-line treatment for PTSD.

Neurologically Grounded

EMDR works with your brain's natural healing process to reduce the emotional charge of traumatic memories.

Faster Results Than Talk Therapy

Many clients experience significant relief in 8–12 sessions compared to years of traditional therapy.

Why this work is different

I'm Aseya, originally from Siberia. I found my way into therapy work after experiencing the loss of a loved one and several burnouts as a high achiever. I understand deeply how deep-seated trauma can sabotage your career growth, strain your relationships, and keep you from enjoying life to the fullest.

I work with high-functioning, self-aware individuals who feel stuck despite doing everything "right." You don't need more talking — you need a proven method to actually process what your nervous system never resolved. That's what this work is designed to do.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about EMDR therapy before starting your healing journey.

First Steps
I've tried therapy before and it didn't work. Why would EMDR be different?
That's one of the most common things I hear — and it's a fair question. Traditional talk therapy works through verbal processing, which doesn't always reach trauma stored in the body and nervous system. EMDR works differently: it uses bilateral stimulation to help your brain reprocess stuck memories at a neurological level. Many of my clients came to me after years of talk therapy with limited results, and experienced meaningful shifts within just a few EMDR sessions.
How do I get started? What does the first session look like?
We start with a free 15-minute consultation call — no commitment, no charge. I'll listen to what you're going through, answer your questions, and let you know honestly whether EMDR is a good fit. If we decide to move forward, your first paid session is a comprehensive assessment where I learn more about your history and we build a treatment map together. Processing doesn't begin until you feel safe and ready.
Common Concerns
Will I have to talk about what happened in detail?
No — and this surprises most people. During EMDR processing, you don't need to narrate your trauma or describe it in detail. You simply hold the memory in mind while following the bilateral stimulation. I need just enough to know what we're working on. Many of my clients say this is the biggest relief: healing without having to re-tell the story over and over.
I'm not sure what's causing my anxiety or depression. Can you still help?
Absolutely. You don't need to arrive with a clear diagnosis or a named trauma. Many of my clients come in knowing only that something feels off — a persistent heaviness, anxiety without an obvious cause, or patterns they can't seem to break. Part of our early work together is gently identifying what's at the root. EMDR is effective even when the origins of distress are unclear or diffuse.
About Sessions
What does an EMDR session actually feel like?
It's hard to describe until you experience it — but most clients say it feels surprisingly calm. You hold a specific memory or feeling in mind while following a stimulus on your screen (moving dots, alternating tones, or taps). Your mind moves naturally — images, thoughts, and sensations come up and shift. I guide you through it, and we debrief after each set. You remain in control throughout. Many clients describe it as "watching a memory from a distance" rather than being inside it.
How quickly will I start to feel a difference?
Some clients notice a shift after their very first processing session. Others see gradual change over 4–8 weeks. It depends on what we're working on and how your nervous system processes. What I can say is that EMDR typically produces results faster than traditional therapy — particularly for trauma with a clear origin. I'll be honest with you about your progress at every step.
Practical Info
Can we work together if I live outside a major city?
Yes — all my sessions are via telehealth, which means your location doesn't matter. I've worked with clients in rural areas, small towns, and remote communities who previously had no access to trauma-specialized care. All you need is a private space and a stable internet connection. Geography is no longer a barrier to quality trauma therapy.
What does it cost, and is there any financial flexibility?
My standard session fee is $180–$220 for 50 minutes. I'm out-of-network with insurance, but I provide superbills so you can seek reimbursement — many PPO plans cover 50–80%. I also offer a sliding scale for clients who genuinely need it. My goal is to make this work financially wherever possible. Let's talk about it during your free consultation.
